I've been tagged for a photo ....

There is a very fun meme going around and my friend Marion tagged me to play. The rules are simple: go into your pictures and open the fourth file then the fourth photo of that file and post it! Easy-peasy! So here is my photo:

This is actually a lantern from a railroad caboose.

I'm very glad that Marion tagged me because she prompted me to do another post that I've been wanting to do for awhile. Along with making cards I am working on building a business as a photographer. I also love Branson, my new home since October 2007. Putting both of those together resulted in another blog, The Family Branson, which hasn't gotten a lot of my attention lately. Playing this meme led to to the photo of the lantern so it seemed the perfect time to get the post written about the cafe that displays this lantern, and others like it. Hop on over to see more of Billy Gail's Cafe, and Branson!

Oh, yea, the other rule is to tag four others to play. I recently sent out a bunch of awards (which tagged a bunch of terrific crafters) so I invite anyone who wishes to play to pull the fourth picture of the fourth file in your pictures folder and share it with us. Ya' never know what you are going to get!

Nancy, Carolyn, Oma, Leigh, and Shannon: It's time to watch your mailbox!

On February 25 I ran this post: Would You Like To Win An Original "Made For Keeps"? Five wonderful ladies made comments and, as promised, I made something special for each of them. Those special somethings were mailed today. Ladies, please remember to post a photo of what you get.

I haven't posted any of the items here yet, but I just couldn't resist showing sneak peeks! So, who is getting what? Nancy, Carolyn, Oma, Leigh, Shannon?
Thank you for playing, ladies!

Would You Like to Win an "Original Made For Keeps"?

Wow! I need to get busy! Five lovely ladies are going to get a Made For Keeps original card ---- soon!

I saw this on Lauri's blog and was able to get in the first five! I thought it was so fun that I would do it too!

The first five people to respond to this post will get something made by me! My choice. For you!

This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:
1- I make no guarantees that you will like what I make --- but I hope you do!
2- What I create will be just for you --- one of a kind!
3- It'll be done sometime this year (most likely it will be in the next month.).
4- You have no clue what it's going to be. Well, a pretty good bet it will be made of paper!
5-The catch? Oh, the catch is that you must repost this on your blog and offer the same to the first 5 people who do the same on your blog!

The first 5 people to leave a comment win a handmade card or gift (or both!) by me! Oh, and be sure to post a picture of what you win when you get it! So....who will be the first 5 people????? Please??? 5????

Ya know what? This is my little addition: Even if you aren't in my first five, why not start this on your blog, too? Spread more love FASTER!

Ready, set.....who will the first five be??

I've been tagged!

I've been tagged by my friend Donna, aka Popsicle Toes, to share 7 random and/or weird facts about myself. This is a fun tag, especially since I then get to tag seven more bloggers and learn more about them! I think I have done this before, but I have enough weirdness to go another round. :-)

So here we go:

1. I absolutely hate, yes I am using that word my mother never liked to hear, h.a.t.e. peanut butter! For that matter, I hate nuts of any kind. Can you say "sensitive gag reflex"?

2. While we are on the topic, put coconut in the same category as nuts --- hate it!

3. Ok, let's switch gears. Donna "Popsicle Toes" thinks pizza should be a food group. I think that chocolate should be a food group!

4. I cry when I see reunions at the airport, especially where military families are concerned. Even watching homecomings on TV send me grabbing for the tissues.

5. I hope I live long enough to read all the books I have, and continue to acquire, and to make all the cards-scrapbooks-photos-paintings that I have ideas in my head for.

6. Someday I will write a book, hopefully soon, but I don't know what it will be about.

7. I hate to get my hands dirty! So, I don't do gardening, or sculpting, or eat fried chicken with my fingers, or mix anything with my very clean hands --- except maybe chocolate chip cookie dough, the only finger-linkin'-good food.

Now for the other fun part. I have a lengthy list of talented papercrafters who I follow, so I will now tag seven of them. Some are old friends, some are new; some know I follow their blogs, some know it now (hee hee). In any case, I hope you all play along!

I've been tagged!

It's been a few days since I posted, or even made any cards. But I have a very good excuse: my brother and niece from Oregon were visiting and we were keeping very busy! My niece is 17 and admitted last night that we wore her out! Keep an eye on my other blog Picture This At Last for some posts and pictures of the many things we got to do. Now I'm exhausted, too, but we had a blast!
______________________________________

I have been tagged by Myrt! Thank you Myrt! Myrt-aka-Marion can be found over at Myrt's Card-O-Craft. She makes beautiful cards and is delightful lady. Be sure to pay her a visit and leave a comment. She loves visitors!!

Here are the rules!
1. Link your tagger and list the rules on your blog.
2. Share 7 facts about yourself on your blog, some random, some weird.
3. Tag 7 people at the end of the post by leaving their names as well as links to their blogs.
4. Let them know that they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

Here are 7 facts about me...
1. I have green eyes and only recently found out that is the rarest eye color.
2. My fingers are long but my toes are short -- both are blessed with very strong nails.
3. My legs are short but my torso is long -- both now blessed with plenty of padding :-(
4. Our ancestry can be traced back to Robert and Elizabeth Barrett Browning, but I didn't inherit the poetry gene --- I rarely write a card sentiment.
5. Though I used to fly quite often, I developed an aversion to it over the years --- OK, the truth is I now have major panic attacks. But if I ever get the nerve back up I would love to visit Norway and England.
6. I am half Norwegian and a lot English, thus the reasons I'd like to visit those countries.
7. Finally, my life-long dream has been to make a living in art and I am in my first year of that endeavor: paper crafts, photography, and writing (not poetry).

Next I should tag 7 more people, but I am going to bend the rules a bit. This is one of the more popular memes right now, so I will ask each reader (even you blurkers out there!) to write something about yourself in a comment. It will be fun to learn something new about everyone and meet new bloggers.

Enjoy your week and, to my American friends, make sure you get out and vote on Nov. 4!

2. Carol - for nature photography and poetry this lady is amazing
3. Carolyn - makes beautiful cards and uses the cutest mouse in her work
4. Lauri - does it all: photography, writing, and cards
5. Judy - one of my new favorite bloggers who does embroidery and cardmaking
6. Barbara - another new favorite who is all into papercrafts, and very creative
7. Karen - I added Karen to my favorites when I saw how she takes stamping to a whole new level

I'm A Pear?

This was a fun little quiz Allison at Stampin' When I Can shared. Hmmm ...... Try it for yourself!

You Are a Pear

You are independent, intelligent, and a free thinker.

You can accomplish great things, especially when you do them on your own.

You are direct, honest, and sometimes even a bit brutal.

There's not much that gets in the way of you and your ambition.

While you are hard nosed, you do have a much sweeter side to you.

It takes times for you to soften toward someone, but once you do, you'll be their friend for life.
