One More Halloween Card

It's almost Halloween and, hopefully, the post office can deliver this card 500 miles in two days.  I sent this one to my adorable grand-niece.

This is Flygirl by Saturated Canary. The paper is from my stash of Halloween papers, which is nearly gone so I can get new sheets next year!  The rickety fence is a Martha Stewart border fence and the stickers are just some fun little circles I found at Walmart.

Flygirl is colored with Copics.  She is such a cute little witch!

While I keep those in the east in my prayers, I am also grateful for the first responders who put themselves in harm's way to minimize loss of life.

How about a question to contemplate today?
What type of service to others or good deed done for other people do you personally find the most rewarding?

A Few Halloween Cards

I haven't gone all out for Halloween cards this year, but I did manage to get some done with my favorite little witches.

This is Hazel from Wee Stamps.  She's just too cute to be a witch!  The papers I used are from my stash of years past.  Next year I just have to get new papers! The fence is cut on my Cricut and the black swirls are Recollections by Michael's.

Hazel is colored with Copics.

This card is actually recycled from a project I did last year when I made a CD case cover.  Just a bit of trimming and adhering it to purple card stock turned it into a sweet card.  This actually combines digital stamps from two designers; the Twisty Tree is from Tiddly Inks and the Witch and Frog is from Sassy Cheryl.  The bats were cut on my Cricut and the edge of the scene was cut with Bat Wing scissors by Fiskars and mounted on a piece of black card stock.

The images were colored with Copics and the background rubbed with chalks.

This is Betty Belfrey by Tiddly Inks.  Such a sophisticated witch!  I followed the pattern of the paper by using the Nestibilities diamond dies.  The black swirls are from my stash.

I love this little sign!  I think I should make one for my studio door.  There is a matching stamp that says "The Witch is Out."

Copics, as always, was my coloring media of choice.

I actually colored these little witches last year and, as part of my resolution to clean up unfinished projects, three fresh cards went into one of my shop locations.  Two sold the first week they were out!  Why did I wait so long?!

I hope your week is going well.  We are sweating through October here in Branson with temps in the 80s, but the chill of fall is just around the corner!  Thanks for stopping by and keep on crafting!

Come Hither

That look...... you know the one I mean.  It makes you swoon. You go weak in the knees, your hands get all clammy and you lose all sense of reality.  It's that look..... come hither...............

Come Hither

That's the name of this haunting image by Mo Manning.  This isn't for any particular challenge, I just LOVE the new images by Mo.  Another one I did recently was "Dare". They are sexy, sultry and just a bit naughty! For this card I used a silver textured metallic card stock for the card base and a layer of the medallion by Nestabilities.  The black is not metallic, but more like patent leather, very shiny.  The red of the medallion is a very shiny metallic.  The swirly ribbon is actually from the new Christmas collection at Michael's and works perfectly here. Swirls of red and crystal rhinestones add to the dizzying effect.  The butterfly is from a vintage download I had laying out for another project, but it just magically flew onto this card!  Spooooooky!

Close up details of the Copic coloring and more of Mo's rich depth in the cape.

Whew! This is getting too hot to handle --- I can't wait to color up another one!!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Sassy Cheryl Challenge #80 -- Wrap It, Bag It, Box It!

It has been awhile since I've been able to participate in Sassy Cheryl's weekly challenge, so it is especially fun to be back for this one.  I am so used to making cards that this week's challenge -- Wrap It, Bag It, Box It --- made me think outside the box, ironically.

I do a lot of photography and often give CDs of the images to those in the pictures.  It is fun to create the CD labels.  This challenge made me think of a special CD jewel case for the photos of the spooky Halloween goblins.

The images used here are Sassy Cheryl's "A Witch and a Frog".   She is really too cute to be a wicked witch, but I'm not so sure about that frog!  This creepy tree is actually from Tiddly Inks.  I love the twisted trunk and it made the perfect background for this little scene.  The bats are cut with the Cricut  and can be found in the Paper Doll Dress Up cartridge.  The label on the side of the jewel case was computer generated.

The tree and the witch were colored with Copics.  The background is various shades of blue, lavender, yellow, and pink chalks from Stampin' Up.  I applied the chalk with Q-tips.

The whole scene was trimmed up with bat wing craft scissors and mounted on black card stock.

I really like this project, even though I don't have little goblins to take photos of.  But then, my little grandniece and grandnephews will probably cast some spooky spells on their neighbors.

Thank you for stopping by!  For much more inspiration from the DT, hop on over to Sassy Cheryl's Challenge.  You won't be disappointed!

Cute Little Halloween Witch

I'm a bit behind with Halloween cards this year, but when I saw this little witch over at Mo's Digital Pencil Too I just had to get moving on a card.  Not only is the witch spooktacular, but that poor little cat hanging on for dear life is so funny.  In just a couple of weeks the ghosts and goblins will be winging their way through the neighborhoods looking for tricks or treats.  If they are all as cute as this one Halloween just might not be so scary.

The little witch is colored with copics and mounted on a card made with scraps of Halloween dp from last year (I never through anything away!)  The tree and skeleton were cut with my Cricut using the Paper Doll Cut Out cartridge.  The border along the bottom is Martha Stewart wrought iron punch.

Thank you for stopping by today!  I sure appreciate it!

Busy Beauties Halloween Bride

Happy Halloween!!

The Busy Beauties team is celebrating Halloween by making cards using the new "Here Comes the Bride". My bride is crazy about chocolate!!! So hand over the chocolate and nobody gets hurt! bwaahahahah! Don't forget, she has a really big, really crazy boyfriend!

This card was really simple. I colored the image with Copics. The M&Ms and Hershey's papers are stacked on a card blank of Kraft card stock. From "The Print Shop" I pulled images of a candy bar and Frankie then added the text.

I hope you and your kiddies have a safe and happy Halloween. My treat will be a fancy dinner with my hubby.

Sunday Sketch & Stamp #14 -- Ger's Sketch

(I apologize for this post being so late today. The scheduler can be so unpredictable and, wouldn't you know, on the day I didn't get to the computer right away, the scheduler failed me.)

Many, many thanks to everyone who participated in the Sunday Sketch and Stamp #13! What wonderful creations!! We are so glad you played along this past fortnight and look forward to seeing your projects for Challenge #14.

Challenge #14 is not only Ger's fun sketch, but we also have a sponsor! Our sponsor this fortnight is Your Next Stamp, a digistamp company with very fun images. The Sunday Sketch and Stamp design team and guest designers are using some of YNS in our cards this week, so be sure to take a look. They are so creative!

So, on to my card. First, Ger's sketch. She challenged us with a big circle this time and it worked out really well!

Isn't this a fun Halloween card? I used a black blank card, then mounted a purple circle. Purple is such a great color for Halloween. Instead of the rectangles, I used a couple of circles cut from glitter papers to give the illusion of the moon. Flying over the moon is the image "Cute Witch", which she certainly is! She is colored with Copics. The rickety fence is cut on my Cricut using the Paper Doll Cut Outs cartridge. The smiling pumpkin, also from YNS is colored with Copics. To finish it off I used the Halloween greeting from YNS.
I had so much fun with this card. Thank you, Ger, for a great sketch and Karen at Your Next Stamp for the adorable images to play with.

Now, y'all need to pop right on over to Sunday Sketch and Stamp for more fun and details about this challenge. We all visit the participants' blogs so, I'll be watching ---- bwaaaahhaahhahhhaa!

What Makes an Old Milking Shed Spooky?

In the woods, not far from our house, is this very old, run down milking shed. The dairy cows are long gone, but now and then a deer or two will saunter by on their way to a nearby watering hole. It really is a peaceful little spot under thick trees.

But, a few Photoshop tricks, some Cricut cutouts of skeletons and ghouls, plus a few stickers turn this peaceful little shed into a Halloween haunted house. I made a few quick little cards. I just couldn't resist.

Happy Halloween, everyone! (A bit early!)

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you all are having a great weekend!

More Halloween Cards

Yesterday I made six more Halloween cards, but without the cute kid cutouts. These were fun using designer paper. I loved the witches legs, which were the border on a scrapbook paper, so I made three versions using different colors of cardstock. I still have more ideas, more paper, and stamps I didn't use, but I think I'll move on to fall and holiday cards. Time is flying!

Halloween Dress Up

With Halloween less than four weeks away I wanted to be sure to get some kid's cards in my shop at the Branson Craft Mall. I love the Cricut Paper Doll Dress Up cartridge and it has so many adorable costumes, especially for Halloween. So today I made nine cards using several of the ghoulish kiddos. It was almost like playing with paper dolls again, which I loved to do as a kid.

I can't pick a favorite and there are so many other possibilities on this very versatile cartridge. Each card is 4 1/2 x 6 inches made of cardstock. A variety of Halloween designer papers was used for the backgrounds. All items on the cards are cut outs from the Paper Doll Dress Up Cricut cartridge. I hope lots of little kids get to enjoy these cutesy-scary cards.
