Great New Book: "The Book of Awesome"

While browsing the book rack at Walmart I found a book that brought a big smile to my face, muffled chuckles, and out-loud laughter!  It's called The Book of Awesome and is a collection of the simple moments in everyday life that are often overlooked, but really are the most awesome moments in everyday life.

Take things like finding money in a pocket of a coat you haven't worn since last winter; smelling fresh-baked cookies when you walk in the door; when your luggage tumbles down the chute first after a long flight; or having someone let you in a long line of traffic (that's a Branson awesome moment).  I love this book and the idea of looking back at my day and recalling the little things that are truly awesome.

So, I am going to put a little box in the side bar and report these awesome moments.  Feel free to share yours!  You know you have them!

Neil Pasricha, the author of The Book of Awesome also has a website 1000 Awesome Things where he continues he quest for all things awesome.

AWESOME!

I'm Still Here!

It has been such a busy time since the wedding last week!

I am still going through photos and they are such fun!

I've been battling allergies and lost a day to a killer sinus headache. My little kids (the 3 dogs) have also been sick with allergies. Little boy Shakes had to go to the vet because he was in respiratory distress from allergies. It got really scary one night when he was gasping for air. He is much better now, though.

I got out of the house today for the first time in a week. The weather is gorgeous here!

The first day back I received the new Whiff of Joy Fall Stamp Kit and the images are darling! I did take time from the computer to color some so you will be seeing these soon. I have a couple of challenges to try to meet this week and hope to get to them. And, of course, the biweekly Sunday Sketch and Stamp is coming up on August 30!

You might notice something new at the top of my sidebar. I have branched out "Made For Keeps" to "Shop Made For Keeps" where cards that I have posted here are available for purchase. I hope to offer photos and other greeting card sets, also. This site is a pre-cursor to a more formal web site and also my Etsy Shop will be opening soon.

I've been blurfing around to catch up with every one and there is so much wonderful creativity going around in the blogosphere! I love it!

Thank you all for your comments on my family photos. Not to sound biased, but they are lovely folks, eh!

Thanks for stopping by! I'll be baaaack!

Big Family Events Coming Up!

For the next week or so I will probably not be posting much, or making too many cards. My son is flying in tomorrow night and we will have a few days together before attending my brother's wedding. The wedding will be a big family reunion, too, as my brother and niece from Oregon will be flying in to join the family from around the Midwest.

We are all ecstatic about the wedding. I am gaining an angel of a sister-in-law and my brother is the happiest I have ever seen him.

So, if I can, I will slip in a post or two. But for sure I will find time to check in with everyone. I don't want to miss a single gorgeous creation!

A Very Pleasant Surprise Kept Me Away for a Few Days!

Last Thursday I had a very pleasant surprise: friends from Phoenix, whom we hadn't seen for nearly two years, were on their way to Branson! They weren't on a set time schedule, and since they had not been here before, we talked them into staying for a few days to see the sights, a show or two, and spend hours catching up! We had three wonderful days before they had to continue on their trip. Hopefully, it won't be another two years before we see them! I'm sure it won't --- they loved it here, as do we!

So, I have some catching up to do! My first priority is to post a very special celebration of my blog which, of course, means C-A-N-D-Y! So, please some back soon to see what I have in store!
