Sunday Sketch and Stamp Challenge --- Maggie's Sketch

Graduation Congratulations!

My goodness, where did the last two weeks go?  It seems that time just moves faster and faster, especially with so many great card sketches and images to play with!  Well, Sunday Sketch and Stamp has another fabulous sketch from our fearless leader Maggie this week  You are going to love the possibilities with it!  But first, a great big THANK YOU to everyone who participated in our last challenge:  welcome to the newbies and good to see our followers.

Now, on to Maggie's genius sketch:
I love all the shapes and layers!  Here is my take on her sketch:

Actually, this is a graduation card for my niece Kelsie.  She graduates from high school in a couple of weeks.  It's not likely she will see this before then (I hope) and I just couldn't wait to put it out here!  I love the graduating kitty from Mo Manning.  It is a new release and I grabbed it as soon as I saw it!  (Gotta love digistamps!)  She is colored with Copics and I chose orange for the robe as that is the school color.  At least I think it is the school color; it's what was on their website.  Kelsie lives several hundred miles away and I won't be there for her big day, but I wish her all the best in her future with lots of love.  The dp and stickers are from a graduation scrapbook kit by DCWV.  I had another card to make, too, so there was plenty here for both and more!

Here is the inside with space for a handwritten note:

To all the graduates out there I wish you a bright future with lots of opportunities for your success and to help make this a better world for everyone!  But first, celebrate your hard work and enjoy the moment!

Congratulations!

Sunday Sketch and Stamp #27 --- Ger's Sketch and Busy Beauties Boutique

Happy May, everybody! It's hard to believe we are well into spring and headed for summer already!  We here at Sunday Sketch and Stamp are so excited to be starting our second year.  So many new talented friends have come our way and we couldn't be happier!

The challenge this week is a sketch by Ger which I found to be fun to work with and has limited possibilities.  I can't wait to see what you all come up with!  Extra-special for me is that the Busy Beauties Boutique is the sponsor for this fortnight.  My friend and all 'round talented lady, Carolyn Bounds, kicked off the BBB digital stamps a few months ago and it is my privilege to be part of her incredible design team, too.  She has offered up some terrific prizes for us here at SS&S so be sure to hop in with your cards!

Here is Ger's sketch:

....... and my card:

Busy Beauties recently released a very fun set of Alice In Wonderland digital stamps.  This is Alice.  Isn't she pretty?  Wait till you see the other characters:  the Caterpillar, the Queen of Hearts, the Mad Scrapper, the Rabbitt, and more!  I colored this image with Copics and used a fun selection of dp I just picked up at Michaels.  The charm says "Dream".  Here's a close-up:

Thank you for stopping by today! I am looking forward to seeing your creations with this sketch from Sunday Sketch and Stamp!

Happy 1st Birthday, Sunday Sketch and Stamp Challenge and Blog Hop!

This is a very special post for Sunday Sketch and Stamp!  We are celebrating our 1st birthday! This year has gone by so fast and we have had so much fun, not to mention 25 tremendous sketches!

To celebrate our first year we have a special blog hop and challenge.  The blog hop will run for the next week and you will find the details at Sunday Sketch and Stamp, which is the first stop on the hop.  For the next two weeks, our normal timeframe, the challenge is to choose one (or more) of your favorite sketches from our first year.  You will find all the sketches at our Photobucket album here. Good luck choosing!  I would love to do them ALL again!

I decided on sketch #3 which was Sem's fabulous sketch:

This is so versatile and fun!  Here is my new card with this sketch:
The image is from the new Whiff of Joy "Blooming Spring" collection.  It's a great choice for a young man's card.  A handmade birdhouse -- a sure sign of spring! This image is colored with Copics and the DP is from my stash of scrapbook paper.  I used Kraft paper embossed with my Cuttlebug and added the striped and measuring tape woven ribbons, all have nice texture.

Just for fun, here is the card I did with Sem's card waaaay back last May!  See what I mean?  Versatile and fun!

If you are playing along with the blog hop, you should have come here from our talented Arianne's blog. If you haven't, you can go back to the start at Sunday Sketch and Stamp to get in on all the fun! Your next stop is at creative Ger's blog.

Thank you so much for stopping by.  I hope you celebrate with us and choose a favorite sketch or two.  We'd love to see your projects.  And many thanks to all of you for joining us this past year.  We hope to see many, many more friends join in for our second year!

Sunday Sketch & Stamp Challenge #24 --- My Sketch!

Happy Sunday, everyone! Does it feel like spring where you are?  With all the snow we've had here in the Midwest section of the U.S. one would never believe that it is officially spring!

It's time for another sketch at Sunday Sketch and Stamp.  For this fortnight it is MY sketch!  Woo hoo! We always get such fantastic projects from participants and I can't wait to see what you all come up with for my sketch.  So, here it is:

It's pretty easy and a lot of fun.  I've already used it a few times!  For this challenge I am celebrating the beginning of baseball spring training here in the U.S. and here is my card:

There is no better sign of spring than baseball!  I love this image (and I love baseball) from Mo Manning and I colored it with Copics. The papers are a variety of scrapbook papers I had on hand.  The ribbon and baseball buttons are from Walmart.  The inside sentiment reads "When life throws you a curve ball, swing! (Alyssa Knight, age 12)"  This is a stamp from a set of Inkadinkado "kid quotes".

I hope you all join us for the next two weeks over at Sunday Sketch and Stamp. Be sure to jump over there for all the deets of this challenge.  I'll be hoppin' to all your blogs for a peek at your projects, as will the rest of the DT.

Thanks for stopping by and I'll see y'all later!

Sunday Sketch and Stamp Challenge #23 --- Arianne's Sketch

Welcome back to another Sunday Sketch and Stamp Challenge. Thank you for joining in our challenge the past two weeks!  So many beautiful creations!

This fortnight we have a wonderful sketch from our very own lovely and talented Arianne.
I really like the variety of shapes in the sketch and had a great time with it.
I used an adorable illustration from Mo Manning and made this a birthday card.  He just looks so happy!  Kids love balloons and who can blame them.  The DP and decorative brads are from the Basic Grey Marrakesh collection.  Die cuts by Nestibilities on my Cuttlebug.

I hope you are happy you stopped by!  I know I am! Thank you for your time and I invite you to leave comments.  Most of all, I invite you to join in the Sunday Sketch and Stamp challenge.  Wait till you see the DT's projects!! Talk about gorgeous!

Sunday Sketch & Stamp Challenge #22 -- Sem's Sketch

Sunday Sketch & Stamp is back this week with a super sketch from Sem.  First, I want to thank everyone who participated in the last challenge.  I love browsing through the participants' blogs and seeing such creativity!

Here is Sem's sketch.  There were so many possibilities with this layout!  I can see it with lots of layers and colors or clean and simple.  I went with a combo of simple with lots of colors.........
I chose to use an image I already had colored and was looking for just the right presentation.  Sem to the rescue!  Here is Mo Manning's "Sumpin's Up" illustration.  Isn't he just adorable?  I remember my son trying to dress himself for the first time!

This little guy is colored with Copics on PaperTrey white cardstock.  The patterned paper is from DCWV Nana's Kids collection.  The circles are Nestabilities die cuts and the brads are from Around the Block.

I sure hope you join in during the next 2 weeks and show us your creation using this sketch.  I'll be hopping around and taking a look!

Thanks for stopping by!  I appreciate your time and comments.

Sunday Sketch & Stamp #21 --- Maggie's Sketch

It is time for Challenge #21 at Sunday Sketch & Stamp.  I actually had to look at the calendar to make sure two weeks had indeed passed since our last challenge.  Time sure flies!  Maybe that's because we've had so much fun looking at all of the wonderful projects from so many readers!  What a thrill to see so much creativity from all over the world!

Maggie is our feature designer for this fortnight and has presented a very unique sketch for us.  I had a great time with it and wait till you see what the DT has come up with!  Here is Maggie's sketch:

And here is my card...........

Sunday Sketch and Stamp Challenge #20 --- Ger's Sketch

First, thank you to all who joined our last sketch challenge!  So many wonderful projects!  We appreciate how much the participation has grown and it is thanks to all of you for helping to spread the word about Sunday Sketch and Stamp.

The past two weeks have flown by and it is time for another challenge at Sunday Sketch and Stamp!  Our very own Ger is the designer of this week's sketch and I know I had great fun with it!  In keeping with the Valentine theme that I have been in lately, I have just such a card.  The image is "Tom with Hearts" from Crafts 4 Eternity digital stamps.  I printed 2 images and cut one out for a 3D layer.  I colored both images with Copics, the lower image a shade darker to add more depth.

The patterned paper is from the $1.00 bins at Target; buttons from a assorted packages at Walmart; and the ribbon from my stash.  I used my Nestabilities rounds for the die cuts.

I just love this little guy.  Do you suppose the balloons are for his first real Valentine?

Now, here is Ger's great sketch:

I know I'll keep this in my sketch book for future use!  So........ whatcha waitin' for?  I can't wait to see your creations over at Sunday Sketch and Stamp!

Thank you for stopping by!  I hope you have a great week!

Sunday Sketch and Stamp Challenge #19 --- Clare's Sketch

Happy New Year, everyone!  Here we are with the first Sunday Sketch and Stamp Challenge of 2010!  Clare has a fabulous sketch for us to use this fortnight.  Before I reveal the sketch and my card, I just want to thank everyone for participating in our 2009 challenges.  We just started off a few months ago and, thanks to support from awesome crafters like you, we have grown rapidly and having a great time!  I hope you continue to join us in the coming year, because it just gets better and better!

Now, here is Clare's wonderful sketch:

And here is my take on her sketch.  The sketch was a lot of fun and definitely a keeper!

The image is from the Sophisticated Ladies collections at Rubbernecker Stamp Company.  I have several of these images and love them all.  She is colored with Copics.  I don't mention this as often as I should, but I have to tell you that I get fantastic results using the white cardstock from Papertrey Ink and stamp the images with Memento Tuxedo Black.  I don't have to set the ink with heat and there is no bleeding with the Copics.  The cardstock is smooth and very sturdy at 110 lbs.

All of the designer paper is from the gorgeous new "Belle Cafe" stack from DCWV.  With a Parisian influence, right down to a beret-capped dachshund, it was a great choice to go with this sophistacated lady!

I'm looking forward to seeing all your creations in the coming weeks!  Please be sure to check out the awesome projects from our design team, and pay a visit to other participants, too!  You won't be disappointed!

Thanks for stopping by!

Sunday Sketch and Stamp Challenge #18 --- My Sketch!

Here we are at Sunday Sketch and Stamp Challenge #18 and it is my turn! Yeah! I've had this ready for awhile, but before I reveal the sketch and card, I want to thank everyone who participates in the SS&S Challenge. I didn't get to comment on all of them this month but I did take a look. Awesome projects, as usual!

On a sadder note we are saying "so long" and many thanks to our very talented guest designers: Mira, Claire and Vicki. They have added such amazing creativity and we love them bunches. Please take an extra minute or two to pay them a visit. I'm sure we will be seeing much more of them. Thank you, ladies! You are all spectacular!

Now, on to the sketch for this challenge. Since we are just around the corner from Christmas and New Year's, this challenge will be up for three weeks rather than the usual two. So, even with all the celebrations, family fun, and food, we hope to see just as many --- if not more! --- participants. Challenge #19 will be posted on January 10, 2010.

It is my pleasure to present the sketch for Challenge #18:

Does it look like fun? Well, I liked it when I did this card. I hope you have fun with it, too. Are you surprised it isn't a holiday theme? I've done close to 200 Christmas cards so far, so I couldn't wait to use this Sarah Kay stamp I bought last month. Isn't he just the cutest? I also have the new "Farmer's Market" stack from DCWV and love all the patterns in it. Also, this paper is 70% recycled materials. That's a good thing! The reverse side is a nice cream color.

List of ingredients:
Image: Sarah Kay
Coloring: Copics
Designer Papers: Farmer's Market from DCWV (yes, I believe those are beets, maybe radishes)
Border punch: Martha Stewart
Buttons and twine

I hope you enjoy the sketch. Most of all, I plan on seeing your project over at Sunday Sketch and Stamp. Thanks for stopping by my blog and the other designers' blogs.

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and Happy New Year to everyone!

Sunday Sketch and Stamp #16 - Sem's Sketch

All of us at Sunday Sketch and Stamp are so excited about the response to our biweekly sketches! Thank you for participating and I hope you join us for Sketch #16 created by our lovely Sem. We are happy to once again feature digistamps from the fabulous Crafts 4 Eternity (C4E). We have four nifty Christmas Cupcakes to play with.

First, here is Sem's very fun and very versatile sketch. You can use any image you wish, as long as it is a stamp/digistamp, of course.

Now for my card. When I saw the adorable cupcakes I couldn't decide which one to feature. So I featured all four!! You can never have too many cupcakes, especially yummy Christmas goodies.
On the front I made a little booklet starting with the Santa Cupcake.

Then we have the Snowman Cupcake.

Next is Rudolf the Red-nosed Reindeer Cupcake.

And who can resist a Strawberry with Cream Cheese Frosting Cupcake? (of course it could be chocolate, or coconut, or cherry)

All the images are colored with Copics and the papers I used are from my stash of Christmas fun stuff!

I'm very glad you stopped by and I hope you play along with us this fortnight at Sunday Sketch and Stamp. Hop on over to check out all the great designs by the talented ladies that make up the design team and the guest designers. You will definitely be inspired!!
