Beginning Fall Production

In my last post I said I would be away for a week, but it looks like I haven't posted for much longer than that! Actually, I have been back home for a week but focused on a series of stories and photos from our day on the aircraft carrier USS Eisenhower for the Friends and Family Day Cruise. That was so amazing and those stories can be found on my other blog Picture This, At Last.

Now I am beginning production of fall, Halloween and Christmas cards. While I have colored stamp images with the usual markers, I decided to refresh my skills using pastels, which seemed to be a better medium, for a set of leaves from Hero Arts. Rather than show the finished cards (because they aren't yet) the photos below were taken of the production process and, in keeping with a weekly theme over on Picture This, At Last I used a macro lens to get tight closeups of the images.

The paper is textured cardstock which, in these photos, really shows up as the canvas-type medium that it mimics. Using the Gallery pastels on this texture creates the dimension that will look terrific on the greeting or notecards. To prevent smudging I will lightly apply the setting spray.

Come back again to see the finished product!

I just found out you've added a link to my blog on yours - thanks so much! I love your blog as well, and will add it to my list. BTW, I love the fall leaves done with pastels! Becky G @ camelliacottagedesigns.blogspot.com
