Sketch and Stash Challenge 76 --- Chrissie's Sketch

[Yes, indeedy, this is my second post of the day!  Scroll down for first ever Sugar Creek Hollow entry.]

It's been awhile since I entered the Sketch and Stash Challenge, but when I saw my lovely friend Chrissie's sketch, I just had to take part.  I love the sketch and had just the right new image to use on it.

The rich deep reds and greens come under my favorites for Christmas colors, especially when I am wanting a vintage look.  The Christmas Cheer stack by K & Co. has been my go-to selection for a couple of years, but I am down to just a few sheets of it now.    All the dp on this card is from that stack.  The ribbon is velveteen and the flower is from Prima.

A new-to-me site is Waltzing Mouse Stamps and this image called "Harriet" is a freebie from the digital products section.  They have a super selection of stamps from which I already have quite a long wish list!  I colored Harriet with Copics and layered it on Nesties die cuts.

Here is Chrissie's sketch.  The next new challenge will be on December 19, so you still have time to jump in with your project.  Be sure to check out the design team's projects, too!

Thanks for stopping by again today!  I hope you are having a wonderfully creative week!

Bah! Humbug! and Sketch and Stash Challenges

It's not often that I get two challenges with one card.  Usually it's all I can do to keep track of one challenge at a time!  But I've decided to add a couple of new challenges to my schedule to keep things fresh and, well, challenging!  In my first post today (yep, this is my second one!) I entered a couple of cards in the StampARTic challenge.  With this card my original target was the Bah! Humbug! challenge which is "A Child's Christmas" and in looking for sketch ideas I found this one at Sketch and Stash challenge.

Along with the sketch I met the challenge by using new corduroy brads, old stash of argyle paper, and a neglected Whiff of Joy image which was colored for last Christmas.

In keeping with the Bah! Humbug! challenge this card is for a son and the image appears to me to be a youth.  The argyle paper, matched with the diagonal scoring of the tan paper, lend to the masculine aspect of the card.  The corduroy brads are something new I found at Michaels and I love them for this card.  My stash of ribbon includes the blue argyle ribbon as well as brown, but I chose to stay with the blue on this to match the paper.  The image is colored with Copics.  I used peel-offs that I won from the lovely ladies at Bah! Humbug! in a loyalty drawing.  These are fantastic but we can't get them here in the U.S.  :(  At least I haven't been able to find them anywhere!  So I have become very greedy with my stash of peel-offs!

It's been a busy day here in the Made For Keeps Studio!  One of the best I've had for awhile and your visit today puts the cherry on top of the hot fudge!  Hmmm..... I just might take a drive into town now for a Dairy Queen hot fudge sundae!

Roses On Paper Challenge Combined with Sketch and Stash Challenge

The Roses On Paper Challenge this week is to combine with one other challenge and add flowers. My entry for this challenge is also my entry for a Guest Designer for their new Belles n' Whistles store.

I combined with the Sketch and Stash Challenge #13 which is a sketch. The stamp I used is a new one for me, Sarah Kay's "First Kiss", which I think is just adorable!! I colored it with Copics and layered it with deckle cut Nestibilities dies. The flowers are from Spare Parts and coordinate with the papers so nicely. This card is a little old-fashioned, just the way I like it. I hope you enjoy it, too.

Thank you for stopping by and please do visit both challenge blogs. The design teams are so creative, as are the many, many participants. Oh, and wish me luck for the Guest Designer spot!
