As I wrote last night, I have finished the Christmas cards for this year. I have did a rough count and shocked myself when I realized that I made nearly 140 cards, which include note card sets. OMG! Unfortunately, I sold very few of them. It seems people think cards like these are too special to give to just anyone. During a cyber-conversation with my friend
Nancy I suggested that we should make "anyone feel special with a handmade card", thus my new logo was born! (Thanks, Nancy, for being my inspiration!) It seems the craft business requires constant reinvention. Creativity must go beyond the physical design.
On the other hand, I had plenty of cards to send out to family and friends. So here are a few more samples:
And that's a wrap!
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, everyone!

Your cards are so beautiful! Your thoughts are so interesting about people's buying habits around cards. I have been approached to sell mine, and just did not want to commit right at the beginning of the holiday season (a couple of people approached me right before Thanksgiving and I would have had to rush and not really thought about it)...so I am trying to decide about doing it in the New Year....anyway, your cards are gorgeous, and people probably do not want to part with them!
Wow Barb your cards are gorgeous! I can't believe you didn't sell many! I can understand though how people would not want to part with them. I sell my cards on a commission basis mostly to family and friends and then by recommendation from them. I am ashamed to say that I usually shop buy nearly all my christmas cards as there are too many to make!

Hi Barb:
Oh my, your cards are beautiful - it must be difficult for you to part with some of your favourites. Wow, 140 cards - I absolutely love your shiny/metallic papers you've used in some of them ...... so elegant!
